The Chemung Valley Conservancy is a not-for-profit corporation organized exclusively for the following charitable purposes:
| (a) to promote the preservation and protection of scenic, natural, recreational, and open space resources; |
| (b) to increase community appreciation and understanding of the natural and cultural environment through the protection and preservation of the landscape for the enjoyment and benefit of present and future generations; |
| (c) to cooperate with and assist local, state, and federal governmental bodies and agencies and their policies, as well as other not-for-profits and private individuals and businesses, in the preservation and conservation of those resources. |
